mini fast food

Okay, these folks have a lot of spare time on their hands, and also, they have a tiny tray of fast food on their hands as well… takes portion control to a whole new level. What is even crazier, is that they cut the burger in half and shared it between them after the photo shoot was over.

knitsKnitting a motorcycle cozy reminds me vaguely of a time past, when a friend of mine covered a lounge chair in frosting. Impressive effort and generally a crowd pleaser…

Garth from Extreme Craft pointed us to a fantastic story he did on artist Theresa Honeywell who created this knit motorcycle which is on display now through April 30th at the Georgia Museum of Art. Honeywell’s work explores the cool tough male world with her pieces like the knit tool belt, knit jackammer, as well as embroidery work of tattoo designs.

medici

A new exhibit at the Civic Museum of Monsummano Terme, just north of Florence, explores the history of chocolate in Europe. The show pays particular attention to the ways in which the patronage of the Medici dynasty furthered the art of chocolate making in much the same ways it advanced the areas of art and architecture. Cosimo III de Medici commissioned new chocolate recipes in order to compete with those of the Spaniards and to impress other aristocrats. One of the results was a jasmine-infused chocolate drink, often presented to visiting dignitaries as an example of the Medici splendor. The exhibit, “Chocolate: from Spanish perfection to the exquisite courtesy of the Tuscan court” continues through April 30.

I do think it is neat that this artist guy is making short movies about people who make things.
